The Crypt at Osadne

The Osadne crypt in Slovakia, was built in 1930 in the old Russian style. In the crypt under the church are the remins of 1,600 soliders, Out of these 1600 soldiers, 64 are identified(they are Austrian, Hungarian, German, Slovak, Czech and Serbian nationalities). Though data on the numbers of soldiers stored in the crypt are known to differ. During socialism the crypt fell into disuse and served mainly as a warehouse, it was revitalized in 2003 and opened to the public.
