Pig - Stages of Decomposition

Pig carcass in the fresh stage of decomposition.

Bloat stage of decomposition.

The active decay stage of decomposition. Notice the extensive maggot feeding and the formation of the cadaver decomposition island around the carcass (dark staining).

The remains stage of decomposition. All that remains is skin and bone and the surrounding vegetation is beginning to grow over the carcass.
